Meet Curt: your guide to musical confidence
Discover the story behind Curts_Music, my passion for teaching, and how I can help you unlock your musical potential, regardless of your starting point. Let's make music together.

My journey: from quiet beginnings to musical confidence
From a young age I have always found music interesting and different to anything else I have ever known. I've struggled sticking to anything apart from guitar. My confidence was knocked at a young age and I have very slowly build that back up over the years, but in recent years, getting to take the stage and find a new lease of life in music has changed my life in ways I can't even describe.
Now I am itching to play live more and my confidence has never been higher! The struggles I have faced with music has defiantly been at times bad, to the point I didn't want to pick my instrument up, but no matter how bad things get, I always go back and I always surprise myself with what I can actually do when I put the time and effort into it and SRV was a big part of brining me back to playing guitar.

Your potential, my priority: a personalised learning journey
My teaching style may be quite different to what you have had before or maybe I am the first teacher you are going to have. Either way I believe my teaching methods will be easier to understand due to the fact I have had to dumb everything down for myself and learn everything from a hundred times over to make sure my understanding of the music is correct. Not only do I recommend looking at the things that make the song, but look into it deeper. You either have a surface level understanding of music, or you take a deep dive and find the deeper meaning behind the music.

Inspiring all ages: unlocking music for everyone
My teaching started with family. I have a few nieces that are very into music and playing guitar and I was the one who gave them lessons when starting out. I found that whatever information I gave them, no matter how complicated I found it when I first learned it, they came back each week with the understanding of what I taught them. If I can get children to understand fairly complicated music theory and song structures then I believe I am doing something right and am able to help people of all ages get into music
The music community: "A place where everyone & anyone belongs"
I have been a part of the music community in both Hull and Huddersfield and can assure everyone that no matter where you are in the world, music can bring people together, it can help in so many ways and the community that comes with music is one of the best communities you can be a part of. So many people understand what its like to be a beginner and everyone is always looking to help others and get you up to the level that we all know you can achieve with some time and dedication.
